This 19th-century lady is known for being a horsewoman of supreme skill far superior to most of her male equivalents at the time. Riding bareback through fields and across fences, it is a mystery how she never lost her big hat.

Inspired by the character depicted in the painting “L’Amazone” by Édouard Manet, L’Amazone shows her strong character with her scarlet red lipstick on her solid maple wood head and her cloak in black stained solid ash wood with black metal buttons and a fashionably large brass brooch. Her outfit is completed with her large formal hat carved from solid ash wood and stained black.
L’Amazone is part of a series of characters created from a painting by famous artists.
