2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of Tim Thom, a phonetic contraction of the English «Team of Thomson», innovative integrated structure and exciting adventure launched by Philippe Starck and managed by matali crasset in the 90s. If the entity composed of passionate creators and designers is no longer existing, its unique spirit is still alive at Technicolor.

It was the first time that a large group gave carteblanche to a team of creative people 
Following her beginnings at Thomson, which aimed to domesticate technology, matali crasset designed Osmoze, a high-tech basket that strolls its good vibes into everyday life. According to Bruno Esteve, director of the «Product and Branding Experience» at Technicolor, now in charge of defining all aspects of design related to the image of the group’s brands: «the circle is complete»..

Today, the «Product and branding experience» unit, who works internally on communica- tion, graphics and product design, is always keeping in mind the fabulous advances led by Philippe Starck and matali crasset and is collaborating regularly with design schools to promote original creations.

« To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Thim Tom, it seemed natural for us to collaborate with Designerbox, which promotes an accessible and high quality design, and to call again matali crasset, which, beyond her knowledge and synergies with the Thomson brand, is a key figure in the French creative landscape. » In line with the freedom granted to the design team of the 1990s, Thomson gave a carte blanche to matali crasset on the typology and on the design of the product. «Of course the object had to respect price and produc- tion constraints, but apart from that, we wanted to propose something that really represented her approach and her philosophy. »

Friendly, itinerant, convivial, Osmoze is more a matter of emotions than technicality.
