The lamp consist only of thin wooden ring with a specially designed groove, that reflects the light on the wall. As the light is pointing outwards, the absence of light in the middle creates a mysterious shadow, which is the darkest point in the room, if there is no other light sources around.
The reflection from wood, creates a bright warm belt of light that is gradually fading into natural color of light, which mimics the natural afternoon sky-light and creates a calming atmosphere.
Varying the distance from the wall changes its luminous effect. When turned off, it functions as minimal design object: a thin wooden circle on the wall.
