Table Acca - 2019
The main idea was to design a solid table with invisible underside structure.
We used two steel beams to stiffen the top in solid oak while maintaining the legs. These beams exceed just 3mm over the table top to be used as a heatproof mat for hot pots and pans.
The assembling mechanism is visible while being structural. The name Acca comes from the Guava tree of Brazil Feijoa sellowiana "Acca", known to grow in hot regions.
Formel is a contemporary design studio and manufacturer based in Paris. Beginning in 2018 as a collaboration between industrial designer Timothée Concaret and craftsman Nicolas Mérigout, the office was officially founded in 2019.
They work with a wide variety of clients, making no distinction between furniture, lighting and accessories. They also produced their own furniture collection, designed and made by hand in their workshop.
