While its linear appearance is not unreminiscent of the Balance Light originally designed by Nathalie Dewez for Established and Son, the project for Designerbox responds to a very different problem.
With the Balance lamp, the designer’s idea was to subvert, even enhance the transformer by giving it a function, and its weight allows it to stand upright.
Gravity is, of course, in the same spirit and it uses this notion of balance, but it is inspired by children’s toys and designed in a much more playful way: like a very simple reading or accent lamp whose balancing aspect provides that little extra something that will brighten any decor!
