Humo (smoke in Spanish) is an anti-conformist statement from Studio Nocc. Jean-Christophe and Juan Pablo Naranjo explore humour within this object whose essence is to play with fire! Censer or ashtray, Humo holds in the smoke, transforming a volatile matter into complementary poetry to the object. It resembles a cage that holds in or releases perfumes by the will of draught. The contrast between the graphical movement outlined by smoke and the cold transparency of blown glass creates a magical effect and enchants the spectator with evanescent aromas.
To achieve this designerbox#14 we had to develop an exclusive fabrication tool as the perfection of the bell blown glass had to be broken by a cutting tool. The opening thus produced is then heated and adjusted to the consistency desired by the designers. A glass support is then delicately attached to the edge of the object allowing it to accommodate scented material
Humo is an unconventional object designed by Studio Nocc. For designerbox, they designed this Censer or ashtray that holds in the smoke, transforming a volatile matter into complementary poetry to the object.
