What made you want to become a designer?
Growing gradually, it was a good sense for color and curiosity for materials with an ambition to improve/innovate and change the existing patterns.
Do you have a preferred material? If so, which one? Is it related to a particular meeting or event?
I work a lot with rugs. This is a rich, varied field. I like tight frames where the product has remain basically the same for more than 2000 years, yet its interesting what can be done with it. I also work with ceramics and graphic design is aways on the picture.
The object you created that you are most proud of and why?
There has been quite many already and they are very different. I put a lot of energy into the research and every product has its angle of importance, the core value why it's been made. Latest are the NAKED CLAY cups with a new, sharp shape inspired by architectural forms, VISIBLE INVISIBLE ampel hanger, a super strong but almost invisible (plant)hanger adapting to wide variety of vessels and FLOAT rugs with an innovative dying technique where the whole rug is dyed instead of yarns to achieve the smoothest possible gradient effect.
A particular color?
I have an emotional relationship to colour. It is fascinating. I see it always in a context, related to something. Sometimes the lack of right colour or more precicely, the right appareance of the colour related to the particular material can ruin the project. So no particular color rather than what is the material, form, purpose, appearance, availability and zillion other things handled together with the colour questions.
