Paola Navona was born in Turin but made Milan her home; she graduated in architecture in 1973, and during the 1970s and 1980s she worked in the Alchimia group with Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi. At the same time she began her ongoing collaboration with Abet Laminati. From 1985 to 1988 she was a consultant for UNIDO and for the World Bank for the Philippines and Indonesia. Paola Navone, architect, designer, artistic director and interior designer, is extremely interested in the most diverse cultures, between East and West, between design and crafts. She now maintains numerous collaborations with heterogeneous brands such as Armani Casa, Knoll International, Alessi, Driade, Piazza Sempione, Casamilano, Molteni, Poliform and Gervasoni, for whom she is also artistic director. In 2000 she was named "Designer of the Year" by the prestigious German magazine Architektur & Wohnen.
