After having studied at the Bauhaus school, in Paris at Jean Nouvel's, then in Japan working for major brands, Gesa Hansen, a young German-Danish designer, created her furniture brand in 2009. Inspired by Scandinavian design in the 1950s and particularly by the work of her grandfather, she chose to sign her creations under the name "The Hansen Family" to pay tribute to her origins. With wood as her favourite raw material, Gesa Hansen designs inhabited and sensitive objects or furniture that aim to soothe everyday life and forge links between times and people.
