Hilla

HILLA, A lamp designed by Natacha.Sacha.

Designed by natacha.sacha, winner of the Newlife@work design competition (a contest organised vy Designerbox and Archimage agency in june 2020), the HILLA lamp is typical of the way this young duo rethink certain technical objects and how they are used.

Inspired by the work of Hilla and Berndt Becher and their iconic photographs of industrial buildings, especially water towers, the designers inverted the light source and the bowl, from which one can help oneself to pencils or which one can make one’s own by placing personal effects into it.
Punctuating the workspace like an island of light with its diffuse, indirect 360° light source, HILLA transcends the traditional office lamp, endowing spaces with a friendly presence that invites one to linger.

With its tray of enamelled sandstone – a material generally used in the context of homes – Hilla contributes to the dissolution of boundaries between home and office and fits not only into open-plan spaces but equally well in entrance halls and on bedside tables as a holder for personal effects.

But don’t be surprised to see your children re-purpose your favourite accessory into a painting kit. Don’t worry – this double vessel can be separated and washed!
